The National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic has launched the 2025 Government of Slovak Republic National Scholarship Program for all international students passionate about studying for their master’s and PhD in Europe.
The scholarship is fully funded and covers living allowance, accommodation, full tuition, and also travel allowances. It is a big support system for all candidates who will emerge as winners at the end of other reviews.

Criteria for the 2025 Government of Slovakia Scholarship
Before you start your application process for this Government of Slovakia scholarship, you need to ensure that you have the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of a foreign country
- Be students who:
- are university students at universities outside Slovakia;
- are students of the second level of higher education (master’s students), or are students who, at the time of the application deadline, have already completed at least 2.5 years of their university studies in the same/similar study program;
- will be on a study stay in Slovakia during their higher education outside Slovakia and will be accepted by a public, private, or state higher education institution in Slovakia for academic mobility to study in Slovakia.
- Be enrolling to study a postgraduate degree in a Slovakian institution
- Be PhD students whose higher education or scientific training takes place outside Slovakia and who are accepted by a public, private, or state higher education institution or a research institution in Slovakia as eligible to carry out a doctoral study program.
- Be international university teachers, researchers, and artists invited to a teaching/research/artistic stay in Slovakia by an institution with a valid certificate of eligibility to carry out research and development, which is not a business company.
- Meet the Language requirements of the country (English, French, Slovak or Spanish)
Benefits of this Scholarship Program:
- The scholarship is intended to cover international scholarship holders’ living costs, i.e., the expenses related to staying in Slovakia (food, accommodation, etc.), during their study, research/artistic or teaching stay at universities, and in research organizations in Slovakia.
- The scholarship holder can ask for assistance concerning accommodation and formalities related to entering and staying in the territory of the Slovak Republic either at his/her host institution or he/she can handle all the necessities himself/herself.

- university teacher/researcher/artist: 1470€
Required Documents for the Government of Slovakia Scholarship Program:
For the Government of Slovakia Scholarship Program, the following are the required documents that must be attached to the online application:
- curriculum vitae;
- motivation letter;
- detailed study program
- two recommendation letters issued by the applicant’s university teachers
- confirmation issued by the applicant’s home university confirming that the applicant is a regular student of the respective university at the time of applying
- scan of the applicant’s bachelor’s diploma, diploma supplement, and state examination certificate (if applicable);
- An admission/invitation letter issued by the applicant’s host university in Slovakia indicates the stay period.Â
Closing date for the 2025 Government of Slovakia scholarship
The 2025 Government of Slovakia scholarship’s closing date is 30th April 2025. Ensure to apply within this time frame to qualify for possible shortlisting.
