Overview of Kaduna state college of nursing and midwifery

The college came into being after the enactment of Law No. 34 of 2018. This led to the merger of the College of Nursing, Kafanchan, and the College of Midwifery, Tudun Wada Kaduna. The Law also allowed for the creation of a Campus at Pambegua to train Nurses. Consequently, the college operates a multi-campus system.

Presently, the college has the following campuses: Tudun Wada Kaduna, Kafanchan, and Pambegua. The college currently runs the following programs:

  1. ND Nursing
  2. General Nursing
  3. Basic Midwifery
  4. Post-Basic Nursing
  5. Community Nursing
  6. Community Midwifery

AIMS

The aim of this program is to prepare competent, skilled, versatile, and independent nursing and midwifery practitioners, who are capable of providing high-level health care to individuals and expectant families in homes, communities, health centers, hospitals, and clinics in rural and urban centers of society.

Core Mandate 

A.) Provide courses of study, training, and research in general nursing, midwifery, and public health nursing, `either singly or in affiliation with other institutions and universities, and award diploma certificates and and undergraduate and postgraduate degrees as may be accredited by relevant regulatory bodies.
